stand at 4195.60 at 12:05 pm today. Of the issues traded till then, 225 gained, 5 suffered losses and 2 remained unchanged.
Stocks that witnessed seesaw trading with both steep fall and gain throughout the last week closed Thursday with substantial gains, signaling a ray of hope for the frustrated investors.
On Thursday, share prices in the twin bourses of the country - Dhaka and Chittagong - went up recovering the losses of the week to some extent as the companies started recommending dividends for the last year and opening investigation by the market regulator into “unusual trading.”
The DSE benchmark index, DGEN gained 201.02 points or 5.27 percent to put the index above 4000 (4010.79) on Thursday, the last day of the trading week.
Likewise, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) key index, CSCX gained 334.69 points on the day.
